SWEET ON ARGENTINA – Although Mariano Pellegrino, co-owner of the Cremas Artisan Flavors in Union City (which specializes in Argentinian-style ice cream) said he’s rooting for his native land, fans of all countries have gathered around the small TV in the shop to watch the games together.

As World Cup fever continues to run high across the, well… world, Hudson County residents have been getting their “kicks” by finding unique ways to support, watch, and promote their favorite teams. The U.S. and English teams are out, but other local favorites are still in.

The World Cup, which is taking place this year in South Africa, scheduled its quarter-final matches on July 2 and 3. The semi-finals will be held July 6 and 7. The remaining two teams will play a final match on July 11.
