“Smell the Roses,” a solo art exhibition featuring Contemporary American Impressionist, Lisa Palombo, will showcase works from her latest collection that center around capturing the simple beauty in nature. “Smell the Roses” features both large and small scale paintings of vibrant florals and colorful butterflies. The exhibition will run from Jan. 15 - Feb. 28, 2011 with an artist reception on Feb. 3 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Right Angle Gallery, 320 Washington Street, Hoboken, NJ. Palombo will be present at the artist’s reception for the signing of her latest book: Lisa Palombo, American Impressionist. “Georgia O’Keefe once said, ‘the way to get New Yorkers to stop and take notice was to paint large floral paintings’,” said Palombo. “I wanted the works in this collection to capture the magical moments in nature that are often overlooked in today’s fast-paced, smart-phone world.” Palombo, a renowned Contemporary American Impressionist painter, has produced award winning landscapes, still lifes and florals over the span of her 20 year career thus far. Her work has developed a unique style of expressive brushwork and fearless use of color. Palombo’s paintings are found in collections around the country and she is also listed in the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the Marquis Who’s Who in American Art.
